A Coffee Tradition in Columbia, MO since 1992

After discovering the world of coffee roasting in Austin, TX, Skip DuCharme knew he wanted to open a coffee shop.

Skip took a year off from his job to learn about coffee. During that year, he read a book called Lakota Woman by Mary Crow Dog. In the book the author talks about how important coffee is to the Sioux tribes. Skip knew then he wanted to open a coffee shop called Lakota Coffee Company.

Now, over thirty years later you’ll still find Skip and Deb in the store, along with their two sons.

Just kids when the store first opened, Andrew DuCharme is now the general manager and Jon DuCharme is our coffee roaster.  Our family is dedicated to providing you with a great experience.  Our name, derived from the Teton Sioux, means ‘friendly people’, and represents our commitment to providing hospitality and great tasting coffee to everyone who comes through our doors. We hand roast small batches of our coffee beans daily to provide you with the freshest tasting coffee around.
