Lakota is a bit of a phenomenon in my view. I’ve been drinking espresso for about 30 years. I simply have not found better espresso anywhere. The Nespresso company has an uber sales pitch about its individually picked beans from around the world, and they’ve mastered the art of beautiful crema, but the actual taste is simply rather flat, if you’ve had Lakota espresso against which to compare it I order 5 pounds at a time and have it mailed to me in Minnesota. This seems to work without badly compromising the flavor. The espresso there, in their shop on 9th Street, is simply phenomenal, but even 500 miles away in Minnesota, it is still the best I can find.
